Boating Safety Course offerings and information

ABS Cover

Flotilla 1-2 offers the "About Boating Safely" course, formerly known as "America's Boatings Course" or ABC. This is the course approved by NASBLA, the National Association of State Boating Law Administrators, to satisfy the required course by many states, including the New York State requirement for PWC operators. It is also a good introductory course in safety, navigation, rules of the road, trip planning, boating tips, and more for any and all boaters.

Our courses are held at the Lodge room of the Gander Mountain store in the Salmon Run Mall in Watertown. Our 2009 course offerings have concluded. Check back around February for our 2010 schedule.

The cost per person is $35. To register, call or stop in to the customer service desk at Gander Mountain (after the 2010 schedule is posted). Note that although Gander Mountain and our Flotilla provide a mutual benefit through the offering of this course, that no endorsement is implied.

This course can also be done as a home-study; you only need to come to us when you are ready to take the exam. For information and to arrange for home-study, fill out the form below and one of our instructors will contact you.
